Legislative Committee on Public Lands
Summary
The Committee on Public Lands is a permanent committee of the Nevada Legislature whose authorization and duties are set forth in Nevada Revised Statutes 218.536 through 218.5371. Created in 1983, the committee is charged with reviewing proposed and existing laws and regulations affecting the 61 million acres of federally controlled land in Nevada. The committee also provides a forum for the discussion of public lands matters with federal, state and local officials, representatives of special interest organizations, and other concerned individuals.
