Committee on High-Level Radioactive Waste
Summary
The Committee on High-Level Radioactive Waste is directed to study and evaluate: (1) information and policies regarding the location in Nevada of a facility for the disposal of high-level radioactive waste; (2) any potential adverse effects from the construction and operation of a facility, and the ways and means of mitigating those effects; and (3) any other policies relating to the disposal of high-level radioactive waste. In addition, the Committee may recommend appropriate legislation to the Legislative Commission and Legislature.
