Committee to Conduct a Study Concerning the Cost and Affordability of Higher Education (A.B. 202, 2017)

Summary

The Committee to Study the Cost and Affordability of Higher Education (A.B. 202, 2017) is comprised of six legislators, three from each house, and two nonvoting members, one who is a faculty member in the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) and one who is a student enrolled in NSHE.  This is a multifaceted study regarding the cost and affordability of higher education.  It includes an evaluation on the need for higher education programs to ensure economic progress and workforce development in Nevada so that the needs of its residents are being met.  The interim study shall make recommendations to the Board of Regents of the University of Nevada and the Legislature to address its findings.
