ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION–Providing for the employment of attaches.

 

      resolved by the assembly of the state of nevada, That the following persons are elected as attachés of the assembly for the 15th special session of the legislature of the State of Nevada: Carol L. Moore, Joan E. Anderson, Amy L. Phelps, Patricia V. Hatch, Judy E. Sappenfield, Christine W. Shaw, James E. Ohriner, R. David Kirby, Ramona Yeary, Sally Dunfield, Lavelle I. Johnson, Henry E. Gardner, Maxine M. Morrison and Evelyn M. Shewan.

Assembly Resolution No. 2–Committee on Legislative Functions

ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION–Providing allowances for periodicals, stamps, stationery and communications.

 

      resolved by the assembly of the state of nevada, That the sum to be allowed, as provided by law, for each member of the assembly for periodicals, stamps and stationery is $60 and for the use of telephones is $200, and the additional sum to be allowed, as provided by law, for the chairman of the standing committee on commerce for postage, telephone tolls and other communication charges is $40; and be it further

      resolved, That these amounts be certified by the speaker and the chief clerk to the state controller, who is authorized to draw his warrants therefor on the legislative fund, and the state treasurer is thereafter authorized to pay these warrants.

ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION–Memorializing the late Christy “Chris” Schaller.

 

      Whereas, Members of the legislature and residents of the State of Nevada were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Christy “Chris” Schaller on February 27, 1984; and

      Whereas, Chris Schaller served with distinction on the staffs of three governors of the State of Nevada and one United States Senator; and

      Whereas, He was a sensitive person who dedicated a great deal of his time to the service of others; and

      Whereas, As a journalist, public servant and humanitarian, he worked to the benefit of large numbers of Nevadans; now, therefore, be it

      resolved by the assembly of the state of nevada, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature assembled in the 1984 Special Session express their deepest sympathies to the surviving family of Mr. Schaller; and be it further

      resolved That a copy of this resolution be prepared and transmitted forthwith by the legislative counsel to Mr. Schaller’s widow, Harriet.

      resolved by the senate of the state of nevada, That the following-named persons are elected as attachés of the senate for the 15th special session of the legislature of the State of Nevada: Vernon E. Bunker, Linda Keaton, Mary Jo Mongelli, Shirley LaBadie, Mike Leahy, Laverna Marwin, Ann Moyle, Mary Phillips and Marilyn White.

ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION–Providing for the compensation of clergy for services rendered to the assembly and senate in the 15th special session of the Nevada legislature.

 

      Whereas, During the present session of the legislature certain clergy, representing various denominations, have rendered daily religious services to the assembly and the senate; and

      Whereas, A reasonable compensation should be provided for such services; now, therefore, be it

      resolved by the assembly of the state of nevada, the senate concurring, That the state controller is directed to pay the sum of $25 per service out of the legislative fund to members of the clergy who have performed religious services for the assembly and the senate during the 15th special session of the Nevada legislature.

SENATE RESOLUTION–Expressing sympathy of members of Senate for Senator Wilson on his father’s death.

 

      Whereas, This Senate has learned of the death of Thomas R. C. Wilson, the father of Senator “Spike” Wilson; and

      Whereas, The members of this Senate can personally relate to the anxiety and sorrow being experienced by Senator Wilson and his family at this time; and

      Whereas, The death of a deeply loved member of a family causes the other members of the family to rely on their faith to help sustain them; and

      Whereas, The members of this Senate are asked to include the Wilson family in their prayers; now, therefore, be it

      resolved by the senate of the state of nevada, That the members of this Senate extend their deep and sincere sympathies to Senator “Spike” Wilson and his family during this trying time; and be it further

      resolved That a copy of this resolution be prepared and transmitted forthwith by the legislative counsel to Senator “Spike” Wilson.
