AN ACT making an appropriation to CHR, Inc., for operational costs and personnel expenses related to carrying out its program “Caring, Helping and Restoring Lives,” which assists dislocated workers; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1  Section 1. 1.  There is hereby appropriated from the State

1-2  General Fund to CHR, Inc., the sum of $350,000 for operational

1-3  costs and personnel expenses related to carrying out its program

1-4  “Caring, Helping and Restoring Lives,” which assists dislocated

1-5  workers.

1-6  2.  Upon acceptance of the money appropriated by subsection 1,

1-7  CHR, Inc., agrees to:

1-8  (a) Prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance

1-9  Committee on or before December 15, 2004, that describes each

1-10  expenditure made from the money appropriated by subsection 1

1-11  from the date on which the money was received by the Alliance for

1-12  the Mentally Ill of Nevada through December 1, 2004; and

1-13      (b) Upon request of the Legislative Commission, make available

1-14  to the Legislative Auditor any of the books, accounts, claims,


2-1  reports, vouchers or other records of information, confidential or

2-2  otherwise and irrespective of their form or location, that the

2-3  Legislative Auditor deems necessary to conduct any audit of the use

2-4  of the money appropriated pursuant to subsection 1.

2-5  Sec. 2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by

2-6  section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after

2-7  June 30, 2005, and reverts to the State General Fund as soon as all

2-8  payments of money committed have been made.

2-9  Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective on July 1, 2003.
