AN ACT relating to wildlife; decreasing the amount of time a person who is 65 years of age or older must reside in this state to qualify for a reduced fee for a license to hunt, fish, or hunt and fish; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. NRS 502.245 is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-2 502.245 1. The Division shall issue any hunting or fishing
1-3 license or combined hunting and fishing license authorized under
1-4 the provisions of this chapter, upon proof satisfactory of the
1-5 requisite facts and payment of the applicable fee, to any person who
1-6 has resided in this state[:
1-7 (a) For] for the 6-month period immediately preceding the date
1-8 of his application for a license and[:
1-9 (1)] who:
1-10 (a) Has a severe physical disability; [or
1-11 (2)] (b) Has attained his 12th birthday but has not attained his
1-12 16th birthday; or
1-13 [(b) Continuously for 5 years immediately preceding the date of
1-14 this application for a license and is]
1-15 (c) Is 65 years of age or older.
2-1 2. The Division shall charge and collect for such a:
2-2 Hunting license......................................... $4
2-3 Fishing license............................................. 4
2-4 Combined hunting and fishing license....... 7
2-5 3. For the purposes of this section, “severe physical disability”
2-6 means a physical disability which materially limits the person’s
2-7 ability to engage in gainful employment.
2-8 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2003.
