THE ELEVENTH DAY

Carson City (Thursday), February 13, 2003

Assembly called to order at 11:06 a.m.

    Mr. Speaker presiding.

    Roll called.

All present except Assemblymen Arberry, Beers and Goldwater, who were excused.

Prayer by the Chaplain, Father Sam Caldwell.

Heavenly Father, we are sometimes reminded that certain Proverbs do not always hold up in the legislative process: Sometimes a penny saved should have been spent. Sometimes others reap what we sow. In order to survive, some old dogs have to learn new tricks. Sometimes the dead horse we are told we shouldn't beat is resurrected the next session. Birds of a feather may flock together, but they don’t always vote together. Which only proves, Dear Lord, that the only predictable thing is Your love for us and all Your creation.

Amen.

Pledge of allegiance to the Flag.

Assemblywoman Buckley moved that further reading of the Journal be dispensed with, and the Speaker and Chief Clerk be authorized to make the necessary corrections and additions.

    Motion carried.
