Lord, it’s that time once more, so here we are again. Same time. Same place. Some of our faces are different, but our request is the same. I thank You for these men and women and their desire to serve. Please grant them wisdom and grit along with grace and compassion. And, oh yes, Lord, we’ll need humor for the next several months, so please grant us that, too. May we remember why we are here, and may we remember You.

Assembly Bill No. 42—AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; requiring a driver of a motor vehicle to stop in obedience to the direction or traffic control signal of a school crossing guard; prohibiting the driver from proceeding until the highway is clear of all persons; providing a penalty; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
Assemblyman Anderson moved that the bill be referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Assembly Bill No. 43—AN ACT relating to property; authorizing the units’ owners in certain common-interest communities to have delegates or representatives exercise their voting rights; authorizing a penalty to be imposed against a unit’s owner for failing to adhere to a schedule for certain construction related to the unit; authorizing a unit-owners’ association to place and foreclose a lien on a unit for failure to pay such a penalty under certain circumstances; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
Assemblyman Anderson moved that the bill be referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Assembly Bill No. 44—AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; providing for the issuance of special license plates for the Kerak Shrine, Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine of North America, which is located in Reno, Nevada, or its successor; imposing a fee for the issuance and renewal of such license plates; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
Assemblyman Marvel moved that the bill be referred to the Committee on Transportation.

Assemblywoman Buckley moved that all rules be suspended, reading so far had considered first reading, rules further suspended, bill considered engrossed, declared an emergency measure under the Constitution and placed on third reading and final passage.

Assemblywoman Buckley moved that KLAS-TV: Brandon Eisenberg; LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL: Lisa Bach, Joelle Babula, Amy Bennett, Kevin Cannon, Jan Moller, Jane Ann Morrison, Natalie Patton, be accepted as accredited press representatives, that they be assigned space at the press table in the Assembly Chambers and that they be allowed use of appropriate broadcasting facilities.
