THE THIRTY-THIRD DAY

Carson City (Friday), March 7, 2003

Assembly called to order at 11:06 a.m.

    Mr. Speaker presiding.

    Roll called.

All present except Assemblymen Andonov, Collins, Ohrenschall and Williams, who were excused.

Prayer by the Chaplain, Pastor Peggy Locke.

Great is your faithfulness, O God. Your mercies are new every morning. We give thanks to You, O Lord God, for the incredible privilege and freedom to be able to come to You and pray. We pray for our President and our nation, for the safety and security of our military troops, and for this Assembly gathered here today, and for their families. O Most High, bring blessing and peace, wisdom and strength to each one. May we be of good courage and be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the Lord do what is good in His sight. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge  and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Therefore, be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Amen.

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Assemblyman Oceguera moved that further reading of the Journal be dispensed with, and the Speaker and Chief Clerk be authorized to make the necessary corrections and additions.

    Motion carried.
