THE TWENTY-THIRD DAY
Carson City (Tuesday), February 25, 2003
Assembly called to order at 11:34 a.m.
Mr. Speaker presiding.
Roll called.
All present except Assemblymen Goldwater and Ohrenschall, who were excused.
Prayer by the Chaplain, Pastor Monte Fast.
St. Paul stated, “Faith, hope, and charity, but the greatest of these is charity.” We ask for charitable hearts. For it is only when we give of ourselves freely, with hearts full of charity, that real change in the hearts of misfortune or needy persons takes place. Let us not be satisfied with the passage of budgets and bills. But reward these leaders from across our state when they give of themselves without thought of reward.
Amen.
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Assemblyman Oceguera moved that further reading of the Journal be dispensed with, and the Speaker and Chief Clerk be authorized to make the necessary corrections and additions.
Motion carried.
