AN ACT relating to children; revising certain provisions relating to awards of money made by the Committee for Protection of Children from the Children’s Trust Account to certain agencies, organizations or institutions; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

    Section 1. NRS 432.139 is hereby amended to read as follows:

    432.139  The Committee for Protection of Children shall:

    1.  Make [annual] awards of money from the Children’s Trust

Account to agencies of the State or its political subdivisions, and

nonprofit community organizations or educational institutions which

provide or will provide services for the prevention of the abuse or

neglect of children. The duration of an award granted pursuant to

this subsection must not exceed 3 years.

    2.  Adopt by regulation criteria to determine which programs

and services are eligible for an award of money [under] pursuant to

subsection 1.
