AN ACT relating to Marlette Lake; abolishing the Marlette Lake Water System Advisory Committee; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. NRS 331.165 is hereby repealed.
1-2 TEXT OF REPEALED SECTION
1-3 331.165 Advisory Committee: Creation; composition;
1-4 officers; recommendations.
1-5 1. The Marlette Lake Water System Advisory Committee is
1-6 hereby created to be composed of:
1-7 (a) One member appointed by the Administrator of the Division
1-8 of Wildlife of the State Department of Conservation and Natural
1-9 Resources.
1-10 (b) One member appointed by the Administrator of the Division
1-11 of State Parks.
2-1 (c) Three members from the State Legislature, including at least
2-2 one member of the Senate and one member of the Assembly,
2-3 appointed by the Legislative Commission.
2-4 (d) One member from the staff of the Legislative Counsel
2-5 Bureau appointed by the Legislative Commission. The member so
2-6 appointed shall serve as a nonvoting member of the Advisory
2-7 Committee.
2-8 (e) One member appointed by the State Forester Firewarden.
2-9 (f) One member appointed by the Department of
2-10 Administration.
2-11 2. The voting members of the Advisory Committee shall select
2-12 one of the legislative members of the Advisory Committee as
2-13 Chairman and one as Vice Chairman. After the initial selection of a
2-14 Chairman and Vice Chairman, each such officer serves a term of 2
2-15 years beginning on July 1 of each odd-numbered year. If a vacancy
2-16 occurs in the Chairmanship or Vice Chairmanship, the person
2-17 appointed to succeed that officer shall serve for the remainder of
2-18 the unexpired term.
2-19 3. The Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau shall
2-20 provide a Secretary for the Advisory Committee.
2-21 4. Members of the Advisory Committee serve at the pleasure
2-22 of their respective appointing authorities.
2-23 5. The Advisory Committee may make recommendations to
2-24 the Legislative Commission, the Interim Finance Committee, the
2-25 Department of Administration, the State Department of
2-26 Conservation and Natural Resources and the Governor concerning
2-27 any matters relating to the Marlette Lake Water System or any part
2-28 thereof.
