REMARKS FROM THE FLOOR

Senator Titus requested that her remarks be entered in the Journal.

Thank you, Mr. President pro Tempore. I would like to request that we adjourn today in memory of Ms. Elizabeth Gilmartin who died last week at the young age of 40. Several of us first met Elizabeth when she testified before the interim committee on air pollution. Although she was suffering from Parkinson’s disease and grappling with personal family problems, she bravely came forward as a whistle blower against the Clark County Health District’s Air Pollution Division. Her testimony was credible and enlightening and very helpful to the committee. Her bravery and perseverance should serve as inspiration to us as we attempt to address the serious problem of air quality in southern Nevada.
