    Senate Bill No. 106—AN ACT relating to roads; requiring the division of minerals of the commission on mineral resources to identify and map certain roads; requiring the attorney general to bring an action for a declaratory judgment concerning those roads under certain circumstances; making an appropriation; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Senator Rhoads moved that Senate Standing Rule No. 40 be suspended and that the bill be referred to the Committee on Natural Resources.

    Senate Bill No. 107—AN ACT relating to education; requiring the state board of education to prescribe standards for the sale of candy and soft drinks at public schools within this state; requiring the department of education to develop a program to promote health and wellness among persons employed at public schools within this state; authorizing the transfer of certain sums of money from the state distributive school account to provide training to teachers and administrators regarding health, physical education and wellness; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Senate Bill No. 108—AN ACT relating to education; revising provisions governing the apportionments of money from the state distributive school account to provide for the payment of money for pupils who are enrolled in programs of distance education; requiring the department of education to prepare a list of approved courses of distance education; providing for the submission of applications to the department of education to include a course of distance education on the list prepared by the department; providing for the submission of applications to the department of education by boards of trustees of schools districts, governing bodies of charter schools and consortiums thereof to provide programs of distance education; requiring the state board of education to adopt regulations prescribing the requirements of programs of distance education; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Senate Bill No. 121—AN ACT relating to public bodies; requiring a public body to post the notice and minutes of a public meeting on the Internet; requiring a public body to make an audio recording of a public meeting and to retain the recording for 3 years; authorizing a public body to charge a fee for providing a copy of such an audio recording to a person; requiring a member of certain agencies to be present at a workshop of the agency concerning a proposed regulation of the agency; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Senate Bill No. 122—AN ACT relating to taxation; consolidating provisions governing the administration, imposition and collection of taxes on revenues from the rental of transient lodging into a single chapter; authorizing a local government responsible for the collection of a tax on transient lodging to audit and investigate an operator of a facility for transient lodging; authorizing a local government to require an operator to maintain certain records; establishing requirements for the issuance of a notice of determination of a deficiency in the payment of taxes on transient lodging; providing a method for the calculation of a tax on transient lodging for certain uses of time-share units; providing for the taxation of the lodging portion of a package program offered by an operator; providing certain exemptions from the tax on revenues from the rental of transient lodging; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Senate Bill No. 123—AN ACT relating to municipal obligations; requiring a municipality to notify certain entities before incurring general obligation debt or levying a special elective tax under certain circumstances; requiring a debt management commission to resolve conflicts between certain municipalities over the use of any remaining allowable increase of ad valorem taxes and establish certain methods relating thereto; authorizing a debt management commission to establish a procedure for allowing a municipality to reserve a percentage of the remaining allowable increase of ad valorem taxes within a certain geographical area; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Senate Bill No. 125—AN ACT relating to governmental administration; requiring a local government to submit electronically a fiscal report to the department of taxation; requiring the committee on local government finance to establish by regulation certain requirements for a fiscal report of a local government submitted to the department of taxation; authorizing the committee on local government finance to establish by regulation an exception to the requirement that the fiscal report be submitted electronically for certain local governments; authorizing the electronic submission of documents relating to the budgets of local governments to the legislative counsel bureau; repealing the requirement that local governments prepare certain quarterly reports; requiring the publication of certain regulations in the Nevada Administrative Code; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Senate Bill No. 126—AN ACT relating to workers’ compensation; prohibiting employers from discriminating against employees and prospective employees who have filed claims for workers’ compensation when employers are hiring employees or determining terms and conditions of employment; allowing an employee or prospective employee to bring a civil action against an employer who engages in such discrimination; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
