    Assembly Bill No. 284—AN ACT relating to air pollution; authorizing the establishment in certain counties of programs for the control of emissions from certain construction equipment and visibility standards for air quality; revising the provisions governing the deposit of administrative penalties collected in such counties for certain violations; providing in such counties for the control of emissions from heavy-duty motor vehicles that are powered by diesel fuel; including such heavy-duty motor vehicles in the compulsory inspection program for motor vehicles; clarifying certain provisions relating to the compulsory inspection program; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Assembly Bill No. 289—AN ACT relating to workers’ compensation; limiting the definition of “police officer” for the purposes of determining eligibility for workers’ compensation and eligibility to elect to receive normal salary in lieu of workers’ compensation for a period; limiting the definition of “police officer” for the purposes of determining whether a surviving spouse and surviving child of a police officer may elect to accept or continue coverage for certain benefits provided by a public agency or may elect to join or continue coverage under the public employees’ benefits program; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

    Assemblyman Dini moved that the bill be referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

    Assembly Bill No. 290—AN ACT relating to osteopathic medicine; revising the provisions governing the requirements for licensure as an osteopathic physician; revising the provisions governing the filing of a complaint against a practitioner of osteopathic medicine with the state board of osteopathic medicine; requiring a member of the board to review and investigate such a complaint; revising the fees that may be charged and collected by the board; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
