THE  FIFTH DAY

Carson City (Friday), February 5, 1999

Assembly called to order at 11:21 a.m.

    Mr. Speaker presiding.

    Roll called.

All present except Assemblyman Goldwater, who was excused.

Prayer by the Chaplain, The Reverend Ken Haskins.

Loving Heavenly Father, we commemorate and celebrate Girls and Women in Sports Day, here in the Nevada Legislature.  We are reminded of the great lessons that sport teaches each of us: that excellence is worth pursuing and that we would succeed if we would give our all.  We pray for these representatives here who have given themselves completely to making this state a better place for everyone to live and for improving the quality of life for we citizens.  So bless their efforts today.  We pray in the name of our Lord.                                                 Amen.

Pledge of allegiance to the Flag.

Assemblyman Perkins moved that further reading of the Journal be dispensed with, and the Speaker and Chief Clerk be authorized to make the necessary corrections and additions.

    Motion carried.
