AN ACT relating to local governments; authorizing contracts with organizations not for profit; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 Chapter 237 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto the provisions set forth as sections 2 and 3 of this act.
Sec. 2 As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires, "local government" has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 354.474.
Sec. 3 A local government may contract with a nonprofit corporation, whether or not cooperative, a nonprofit unincorporated association or a charitable organization to perform any service, activity or undertaking which the local government is authorized to perform and the other party is capable of performing.
