AN ACT relating to paging; requiring positive identification of the ultimate user of paging equipment; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 Chapter 707 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to read as follows:
1. A public utility that provides paging service or equipment to persons within this state, whether or not the public utility provides other telephone service, shall maintain a record of the name and address of each customer to whom paging service or equipment is provided.
2. If a customer who is provided with such equipment subleases or otherwise makes the equipment available for use by other persons, the customer shall:
(a) Require each person to whom the equipment is subleased or made available to complete an application in the same detail required by the public utility that provided the equipment to the customer;
(b) Provide a copy of this application to the public utility; and
(c) Provide to the public utility a photographic identification of the person to whom the equipment is subleased or made available.
3. As used in this section, "public utility" has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 704.020.
