AN ACT relating to municipal courts; requiring each municipal judge to list the telephone number of his office in a telephone directory; requiring each municipal judge to have a person available to answer the telephone of his office during his regular working hours; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 Chapter 5 of NRS is hereby amended by adding a new section to read as follows:
A municipal judge shall:
1. Cause the telephone number of his office that is located within the court to be published in the telephone directory that is provided to the public in the city in which the court is located; and
2. Ensure that he or a person who serves on his staff answers each telephone call received at the telephone number that is published in the telephone directory during his regular working hours.
Sec. 2 The provisions of subsection 1 of NRS 354.599 do not apply to any additional expenses of a local government that are related to the provisions of this act.
