AN ACT relating to state land; authorizing the conveyance of certain land and leaseholds to the City of Las Vegas for use as a public park; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 The provisions of chapter 321 of NRS to the contrary notwithstanding:
1. Subject to the condition required by section 2 of this act, the Governor at his own discretion may, with the assistance of the state land registrar and on behalf of the State of Nevada, enter into negotiations with the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, to sell, lease, transfer or otherwise convey by quitclaim deed, by interlocal agreement, for a joint venture or in any other manner to the City of Las Vegas:
(a) Part or all of the right, title and interest of the State of Nevada to and in the parcels of land situated in sections 3, 4 and 9, Township 19 South, Range 60 East, M.D.B. & M., in Clark County, Nevada, formerly known as Tule Springs Park and now known as Floyd R. Lamb Park, together with all water and water rights appurtenant thereto and all tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining; and
(b) Part or all of any leaseholds held by the State of Nevada of public land managed and controlled by the Bureau of Land Management.
2. Upon satisfactory conclusion of the negotiations, the Governor may carry out the sale, transfer or other conveyance.
Sec. 2 The land subject to negotiations pursuant to the provisions of section 1 of this act may be used only as a public park and must continue to be so used.
Sec. 3 This act becomes effective on July 1, 1997.
