AN ACT relating to the local government employee-management relations board; authorizing the board to issue subpoenas for purposes relating to discovery; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 Chapter 288 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to read as follows:
1. For purposes relating to discovery, the board may, at any time after an appeal or a complaint is filed with it, issue subpoenas requiring:
(a) The persons named therein to appear for deposition at a time and place designated by the board.
(b) The production at a time and place designated by the board of all books, memoranda, papers and other documents relative to the appeal or complaint.
2. Subpoenas issued pursuant to subsection 1 may be enforced by the district court in and for the county in which the place designated by the board pursuant to subsection 1 is located, in the same manner as set forth in NRS 288.120 for the enforcement of subpoenas issued pursuant to that section.
