AN ACT relating to transportation; directing the Department of Transportation to construct or cause to be constructed an elevated fixed guideway system of mass transit in Las Vegas; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 1. The Department of Transportation shall construct or cause to be constructed an elevated fixed guideway system of mass transit in Las Vegas to run parallel to U.S. Highway No. 95. The elevated fixed guideway system must begin at or about the junction of Ann Road and U.S. Highway No. 95, proceed alongside U.S. Highway No. 95 in a generally southeasterly direction to that portion of U.S. Highway No. 95 also known as the Oran K. Gragson Highway, and then proceed alongside the Oran K. Gragson Highway to or about Las Vegas Boulevard.
2. As used in this section "elevated fixed guideway system of mass transit" includes, without limitation, a monorail, an automated people mover or a personal rapid transit system.
Sec. 2 This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
