AN ACT making an appropriation to the Health Division of the Department of Human Resources for distribution to certain community health centers in southern Nevada for oral health services; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to the Health Division of the Department of Human Resources for distribution to nonprofit, federally funded community health centers in southern Nevada for oral health services:
For fiscal year 1997-98 $250,000
For fiscal year 1998-99 $250,000
Sec. 2 The money appropriated by section 1 of this act must only be used to support the delivery of oral health services including preventative, primary, restorative and complicated restoration services and dental health education programs, cleaning, sealants, base metal crowns, filling caries, root canals, bridges and any other services that are necessary to prevent or relieve pain, suffering and functional impairment.
Sec. 3 Any balance of the sums appropriated by section 1 of this act remaining at the end of the respective fiscal years must not be committed for expenditure after June 30 and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have been made.
Sec. 4 This act becomes effective upon passage and approval or on June 30, 1997, whichever occurs earlier.
