	SENATE COMMITTEE ON LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS AND OPERATIONS

The Senate Committee on Legislative Affairs and Operations was called to order by 
Chairman Mike McGinness, at 8:45 p.m., on Friday, June 30, 1995, on the Senate 
floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Agenda.  There 
was no Attendance Roster.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT:

Senator  McGinness  started  discussion  of  Amendment  No. 1503  to  Assembly 
Concurrent Resolution (A.C.R.) 33.

ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 33:	Directs Legislative Commission to 
conduct interim study to consider 
appropriate division of fiscal 
responsibility for programs and 
services between state and local 
governments.

SENATOR JAMES MOVED TO ADOPT A.C.R. 33 WITH AMENDMENT NO. 
1503.

SENATOR MATHEWS SECONDED THE MOTION.

THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Senator McGinness started discussion on Assembly Concurrent Resolution 49.
  
ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 49:	Directs Legislative Commission to 
conduct interim study of competition 
in generation, sale and transmission 
of electrical energy. 


Senator McGinness stated to the committee that A.C.R. 33 and 49 were the interim 
studies the Assembly had passed.  Discussion followed.

SENATOR JAMES MOVED TO ADOPT A.C.R. 49.

SENATOR MATHEWS SECONDED THE MOTION.

THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Senator McGinness discussed Assembly Bill (A.B.) 538 with the committee.

ASSEMBLY BILL 538:	Creates legislative committee to study state regulations 
which affect business and economic development.

SENATOR MATHEWS MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 538.

SENATOR JAMES SECONDED THE MOTION.

THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
