MINUTES OF THE PRIVATE SENATE COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY Sixty-eighth Session March 3, 1995 The Senate Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chairman Mark A. James, at 11:06 a.m., on Friday, March 3, 1995, on the Senate floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster. Adler COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Dina Titus (Excused) Senator O.C. Lee (Excused) STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Maddie Fischer, Committee Secretary Chairman James called the meeting to order at his desk on the Senate floor to discuss committee introduction of Bill Draft Request (BDR) 16-1816 and Bill Draft Request (BDR) 7-934. He explained BDR 16-1816 was requested by the Senate Committee on Judiciary as part of its Truth-in-Sentencing legislative proposals, and BDR 7-934 was requested by the Secretary of State, Securities Division. BDR 16-1816 Prohibits state board of pardons commissioners from commuting sentence of death of life imprisonment without possibility of parole to sentence allowing parole. BDR 7-934 Makes various changes relating to violations of statutes governing securities and commodities. SENATOR ADLER MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF BDR 16-1816. SENATOR PORTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY (SENATORS TITUS AND LEE WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE). * * * * * SENATOR MCGINNESS MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF BDR 7-934. SENATOR WASHINGTON SECONDED THE MOTION.
