MINUTES OF THE SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING OF THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS Sixty-eighth Session April 27, 1995 The subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Government Affairs was called to order by Chairman Ann O'Connell, at 6:05 p.m., on Thursday, April 27, 1995, in Room 227 of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. SENATE BILL 183: Authorizes certain counties to enact certain ordinances. (BDR 20-161) Handouts were disseminated to the committee by Marvin Leavitt, Legislative Coordinator, City of Las Vegas (Exhibit C), Elizabeth Fretwell, Strategic Issues Manager, Administrative Services, Clark County (Exhibit D), and Mary Henderson, Director, Washoe County Government Affairs (Exhibit E), to facilitate discussion regarding issues for inclusion in a proposed interim study. A round table discussion of home rule and the proposal for an interim study on home rule ensued. The focus of the discussion centered on the handouts which were given to all persons attending the subcommittee meeting. Senator O'Connell requested that Dana Bennett, Principal Research Analyst, work with the Senate Committee on Legislative Affairs to generate the process of requesting an interim study on home rule.
