MINUTES OF THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON FINANCE Sixty-eighth Session April 13, 1995 The Senate Committee on Finance was called to order by Chairman William J. Raggio, at 11:03 a.m., on Tuesday, April 13, 1995, on the Senate floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster. Rhoads Senator Bernice Mathews COMMITTEE MEMBER PRESENT: Joan Thran, Committee Secretary Senator Raggio discussed Assembly Bill (A.B.) 325 with the committee. ASSEMBLY BILL 325: Makes supplemental appropriation to department of prisons for unexpected increase in incarcerated offenders. Senator Raggio explained to the committee that A.B. 325 should be treated as an emergency measure for the Department of Prisons. This would allow the staff to be put in place for the opening of the Lovelock Prison. SENATOR RAWSON MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 325. SENATOR MATHEWS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. * * * * * Senator Raggio discussed Bill Draft Request (BDR) S-1966 and asked for a committee introduction. BILL DRAFT REQUEST S-1966: Makes appropriation to legislative fund. Senator Raggio explained that BDR S-1966 allows an appropriation from the state General Fund in the amount of $3,600,000 to continue the 1995 Legislature. SENATOR RHOADS MOVED TO INTRODUCE BDR S-1966. SENATOR COFFIN SECONDED THE MOTION.
