A licensed psychologist shall limit his practice of psychology to his areas of competence. SENATE BILL 448: Revises provisions governing licensing and regulation of psychologists. THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. ***** Senator Townsend began discussion on Amendment No. 1288 to Senate Bill (S.B.) 536. SENATE BILL 536: Makes various changes concerning licensure and regulation of veterinarians. Senator Townsend stated Amendment No. 1288 removes section 48 the proposed exemption from the notice provisions of the "Open Meeting Law". SENATOR SHAFFER MOVED TO CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1288 TO S.B. 536. SENATOR REGAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. ***** Senator Townsend started discussion on Assembly Bill (A.B.) 592. ASSEMBLY BILL 592: Provides for administration and disposition of medical savings accounts. Senator Townsend stated A.B. 592 would permit the establishment and maintenance of medical savings accounts by employers on behalf of their employees. These accounts for a high deductible catastrophic insurance plan would be set up to cover any serious, expensive health care problems. It would have no impact on the mandated benefits required by Nevada State law. The second portion of the plan would allow the employer to set up a savings account which the employee may access to cover any day-to-day medical expenses. At the end of the year, any money left in the account may be rolled into a savings account or used in any manner desired by the employee. SENATOR SHAFFER MOVED TO DO PASS S.B. 592. SENATOR REGAN SECONDED THE MOTION.
