Carpenter presiding in the Assembly Chambers, Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. John C. Roy Neighbors Mr. Brian Sandoval Mrs. Gene Wines Segerblom ASSEMBLY JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 40 - Urges Congress, United States Environmental Protection Agency and Division of Environmental Protection of Nevada to resolve problems of small landfills with environmental regulations. Mr. Carpenter explained to the committee he would like to expedite A.J.R. 40 by having the committee vote on the bill at the floor meeting. A.J.R. 40 urges Congress EPA and Nevada EPA to resolve problems of small landfills with environmental regulations. ASSEMBLYMAN BENNETT MOVED TO DO PASS A.J.R. 40. ASSEMBLYMAN OHRENSCHALL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY BY THOSE PRESENT. (ASSEMBLYMAN HUMKE WAS ABSENT AT THE TIME OF THE VOTE.) ASSEMBLY BILL 160 - Makes various changes to provisions governing issuance of restricted nonresident deer tags. Ms. de Braga asked the committee to either concur or not concur with the Senate on a change in A.B. 160 regarding the guides receiving 50 percent of rifle deer tags issued to non residents to 33 per cent......... Ms. de Braga said as she remembered the guides testimony they could not survive without the 50 percent figure. ASSEMBLYMAN OHRENSCHALL MOVED TO NOT CONCUR WITH THE SENATE ON A.B. 160, AMENDMENT R-904. ASSEMBLYMAN FETTIC SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY WITH THOSE PRESENT. (MR. HUMKE WAS ABSENT AT THE TIME OF THE VOTE.) Mr. Carpenter explained the two elk bills he had brought forth were incorporated into a resolution and he asked for permission to make an amendment to the resolution incorporating a paragraph regarding depredation tags.
