MINUTES OF THE ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON LABOR AND MANAGEMENT Sixty-eighth Session April 18, 1995 The Committee on Labor and Management was called to order at the back bar in the Assembly Chambers on Tuesday, April 18, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. All members of the Committee were present except Assemblyman Hettrick who was excused. Chairman Krenzer disclosed she works for Sierra Health Services, a managed care organization. She then called for a motion to introduce BDR 53- 1977, which would make various changes related to industrial insurance. ASSEMBLYMAN ERNAUT MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF BDR 53-1977. ASSEMBLYMAN MANENDO SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED. Ms. Krenzer also requested committee introduction of BDR 53-1760, which requires that federal individual income tax be deducted and withheld from unemployment compensation benefits upon request of recipient of benefits. ASSEMBLYMAN MANENDO MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF BDR 53-1760. ASSEMBLYMAN ERNAUT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED. Chairman Krenzer explained to the Committee her intention of requesting a BDR for a resolution memorializing the workers of Nevada who have lost their lives on the job. ASSEMBLYMAN ANDERSON MOVED FOR A REQUEST FOR A BDR. ASSEMBLYMAN MANENDO SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED. Lastly, Ms. Krenzer informed the members beginning May 2, committee meeting hours would be extended into the evenings. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the evening meetings will be scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The meetings will be held in room 119. She asked the members what day would be best if additional meetings were needed. The committee agreed upon Wednesday evenings.
