Report LA96-30
Results in Brief
The Office of Historic Preservation has established controls over grants
management to ensure compliance with budgetary, accounting, and federal
requirements. The Office complied with laws and regulations significant
to the financial administration of state agencies, except for provisions
governing employee performance evaluations.
Principal Findings
The Office did not always prepare performance evaluations for its classified
employees in accordance with state law. Our examination determined that
two employees did not receive annual evaluations, one employee did not
receive 3rd and 7th month probationary evaluations, and one employee did
not receive a 7th month probationary evaluation. After we informed the
Office of the finding, the Office developed procedures to ensure evaluations
are prepared. Consequently, this report contains no recommendations. (page
