In 2007, the Nevada Legislature created the Western Regional Water Commission (WRWC), the Northern Nevada Water Planning Commission, and the Legislative Committee to Oversee the Western Regional Water Commission. The oversight Committee is directed to review the programs and activities of the WRWC, including analyses of the potential consolidation of the retail distribution systems and facilities of all public water purveyors in the planning area as defined in the enabling legislation. The Committee sunsets on July 31, 2013.
